  • “Mosconi Challenger” triples series is our flagship format. Modeled after the world-famous Mosconi Cup, an annual competition held between Europe and the United States (1994-present).

Trios (3-player teams, max. roster: 5), 1500 or 1650 Fargo cap, with open substitution as long as you remain under that limit in every round. Mixed racks, 9Ball + 10Ball + 8Ball in singles + doubles + triples — all in the same match! CSI-sanctioned. BCAPL app or paper scorecard. LMS/Fargo reporting. CSI/BCAPL in-game rules.

If you arrive early to practice, please let the bartender know you’re with North Country CSI (NoCo) to request a set of balls for practice or to open a locked coin-operated table. At the end of the night, please return balls to the bar or share that you’re done competing (so they can re-lock any coin-operated tables).

    No handicapping.
    Open substitution.
    1500 or 1650 Fargo cap.

All racks and matches must be played. The MOSCONI CHALLENGER (triples) doesn’t end in playoffs (only regular session play). It’s important to show up with your best game each week as each series ends cleanly on the final week. This deters sandbagging.

    PLAYING “OUT-OF-ORDER”

For the first segment of racks in the MOSCONI CHALLENGER (triples), the doubles program, please keep to the order on the scorecard and scoring app. For the second segment, the singles portion, these can be played “out-of-order.” One reason for doing this would be to get someone’s racks done sooner (e.g. if one of your players works early in the morning). Another reason would be if the player has another obligation in the room (e.g. plays in another division, works at the venue, or is commentating on a streamed match). Of course, we want players focused on matches. However, there are times when flexibility is good. Please don’t abuse this or disrespect your opponents with it. Use good judgment and communicate fully, as per usual.

    FORFEITS

Forfeits are a last resort, always. If one of your players will miss a night of regularly-scheduled league play, then it’s your responsibility to find a sub or ask your division manager to provide one. We have open substitution as long as you remain within the overall Fargo cap (1500 or 1650 for MOSCONI TRIPLES). Adjust your races accordingly when you play as a higher or lower pair in total Fargo. Negligence with timely communication and/or no-shows may result in suspension from North Country BCAPL league activity.

    MATCH FEES

At the end of each match, if the division manager is present, please submit your team’s payment with your paper scorecard. $45 match fees for MOSCONI CHALLENGER (triples: 3 players x $15 each) to your division manager or stand-in. If the division manager is not present, then second the same fees eletcronically via Venmo (@ericstownsend), Cash App ($ericstownsend), or Zelle (202-494-4326). Don’t ever pay match fees to the venue as they won’t be expecting that and won’t know how to receive it.

    POST-MATCH PLAY

Tables are turned in upon match completion, but you can rent any table from the venue if you’d like to keep playing.

  • All rack scores are entered into LMS/Fargo from the BCAPL mobile scoring app or the paper scorecard. Match scores, standings, and Fargo ratings generally update in 36-72 hours.

    STIPENDS

For the MOSCONI CHALLENGER series (triples), first place teams are rewarded — winner takes all. No repeat recipients across the first three sessions annually. At least three different teams are rewared. The prize increases with the number of teams playing in a divison week. Prize is a stipend (at least $1,800, given a 6-team division) to attend or compete at one of 8 CSI showcases in OH, OK, LA, MI, NV, PR, TX, WI. One team will have the chance to double up ($3,600) in the fourth challenger session.

For DIAMOND DOUBLES, three teams receive stipend money per session: third place ($900), second place ($1500), first place ($2100). Initially, recipients can repeat, session to session.

    CSI Event Calendar

For the MOSCONI CHALLENGER series (triples), stipends assist with a Silver or Gold Division 9Ball team entry fee (1500 or 1650 Fargo cap) at CSI Expo, three advanced-booked flights, and a three-bed hotel stay.

    NOT A CASH LEAGUE

NoCo doesn’t run in-house cash leagues. Stipends are awarded for participation in one of 8 CSI showcases. Money can be held on request if any member or team can’t participate in a given year. Stipends are transferred to team captains for disbursement to team members upon proof of entries, flights, and hotel stay. Stipends can also be gifted.
