Learn about THE DIAMOND DIFFERENCE before your squad plays these tables.

  • “Diamond Doubles” is our newest format — for couples, friends, co-workers, and current amateur poolplayers. Modeled after the World Cup of Pool, a doubles championship between competing nations, held annually from 2006 to 2023.

3-player squads, 2 play per match, 1000 Fargo cap. Stick with one pairing all session or mix-and-match week-to-week within your squad. Weighted races: play to 2, 3, 4, or 5 racks won depending on your pair’s collective Fargo rating. Mixed-format, two doubles races in 8Ball and 9Ball, plus 6 racks of round-robin 10Ball singles— all in the same match. CSI-sanctioned. BCAPL app or paper scorecard. LMS/Fargo reporting. BCAPL in-game rules. Played exclusively on the world’s finest table: DIAMOND.

All racks and matches must be played. The DIAMOND DOUBLES series doesn’t end in playoffs. It’s important to show up with your best game each week as each series ends cleanly on the final week. This deters sandbagging.

    FORFEITS

Forfeits are a last resort, always. If one of your players will miss a night of regularly-scheduled league play, then it’s your responsibility to find a sub or ask your division manager to provide one. We have open substitution as long as you remain within the overall Fargo cap (1000 for DIAMOND DOUBLES). Adjust your races accordingly when you play as a higher or lower pair in total Fargo. Negligence with timely communication and/or no-shows may result in suspension from North Country BCAPL league activity.

    MATCH FEES

At the end of each match, if the division manager is present, please submit your team’s payment with your paper scorecard. $30 match fees for DIAMOND DOUBLES (pairs: 2 players x $15 each) to your division manager or stand-in. If the division manager is not present, then send the same fees eletcronically via Venmo (@ericstownsend), Cash App ($ericstownsend), or Zelle (202-494-4326). Don’t ever pay match fees to the venue as they won’t be expecting that and won’t know how to receive it.

    POST-MATCH PLAY

Tables are turned in upon match completion, but you can rent any table from the venue if you’d like to keep playing.

  • Scorecard (2up)

Doubles races are weighted, using the collective Fargo rating of each pairing. If you’re coming over from APA, then we’ll use the below guidelines to establish individual starter ratings in Fargo. Data from your 10Ball singles racks will then raise or lower this to a more current Fargo rating. Only scores from singles racks count towards individual player ratings.

APA SL to Fargo starter rating:

    SL2 → 275
    SL3 → 325
    SL4 → 375
    SL5 → 425
    SL6 → 475
    SL7 → 525

Use the next grid to determine races.

    For 699u pairings:
    2-2 vs. peer 699u
    2-3 vs. 700-799 Fargo
    2-4 vs. 800-899 Fargo
    2-5 vs. 900-999 Fargo

    For 700-799 pairings:
    3-2 vs. 699u Fargo
    3-3 vs. peer 700-799
    3-4 vs. 800-899 Fargo
    3-5 vs. 900-1000 Fargo

    For 800-899 pairings:
    4-2 vs. 699u Fargo
    4-3 vs. 700-799 Fargo
    4-4 vs. peer 800-899
    4-5 vs. 900-1000 Fargo

    For 900-1000 pairings:
    5-2 vs. 699u Fargo
    5-3 vs. 700-799 Fargo
    5-4 vs. 800-899 Fargo
    5-5 vs. peer 900-1000

All rack scores are entered into LMS/Fargo from the BCAPL mobile scoring app or a paper scorecard. Match scores, standings, and Fargo ratings generally update in 36-72 hours.

If you arrive early to practice, please let the bartender know you’re with North Country CSI (NoCo) to request a set of balls for practice or to open a locked coin-operated table. At the end of the night, please return balls to the bar or share that you’re done competing (so they can re-lock any coin-operated tables).

    STIPENDS

For DIAMOND DOUBLES, three pairs receive stipend money per session: third place ($900), second place ($1500), first place ($2100). For 2026, recipients can repeat, session-to-session. This could very well be revised for 2027.

For DIAMOND DOUBLES, third place stipend is designed to cover a Bronze or Silver Division Scotch Doubles team entry fee (900 or 1000 Fargo cap) at CSI Expo, two advanced-booked flights, and a two-bed hotel stay. Second place is the above plus a $100 per diem. First place is the above, with doubling the per diem to $200. Expenses go furthest with CSI Expo (NV) or Lincoln City (OR) tournaments, but player can choose any event from the CSI Event Calendar. If choosing Lincoln City, then please be aware that you must complete additional qualifying steps with Western BCA before you can receive your stipend.

    NOT A CASH LEAGUE

NoCo doesn’t run in-house cash leagues. Stipends are awarded to cover expenses for participation in CSI Expo, or other CSI national showcase. Money can be held on request if any member or team can’t participate in a given year. Stipends are transferred to team captains for disbursement to team members upon proof of entries, flights, and hotel stay. Stipends can also be gifted.
